Fifty Shades of Grey

When literature student Anastasia Steele is drafted to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for her campus magazine, she finds him attractive, enigmatic and intimidating. Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind - until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time.

The unworldly, innocent Ana is shocked to realize she wants this man, and when he warns her to keep her distance it only makes her more desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her - but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving adoptive family – Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny.

Can their relationship transcend physical passion? Will Ana find it in herself to submit to the self-indulgent Master? And if she does, will she still love what she finds?

Author: E.L. James
Series: Fifty shades trilogy book 1
Pages: 372
Reading time: 6.5 hours

This is now one of my favorite series in romance / erotica genre. I love me some Fifty I tell ya!
This is a BDSM "light" book that has some BDSM in it, but not as a main part, but rather than excitement bit.

The book is extremely funny and I laughed until I cried several times. The reason for this is to view the main character Anastasia, or Ana that she wants to be called. She has an inner goddess who continually show a little dance and show her pleasure, but can also hide behind the sofa if things go slightly wrong or Ana is afraid. The way the author gets the inner goddess to act as a person in some cases makes the book better. We also have a subconscious that will be described with glasses and who knows best. This means that you get a funny way to get to know Ana. . ” You can`t seriously be considering this… My subconscious sounds sand and rational, not her usual snarky self. My inner goddess is jumping up and down clapping her hands like a five-year-old. Please let`s do this… otherwise we`ll end up alone with lots of cats and your classic novels to keep you company.”

Christian Grey is a powerful person who has many secrets, he is a privet person and you soon realize that he's used to getting what he wants. He sees himself as a Dominant and/or a sadist.

The relationship of Ana and Christian are not quite as Christian wants it and it happens a lot of changes over a short period of time. Another thing I think is important to talk about the emails between Ana and Christian. If you read everything, you can find changes in the mail that people do to show how angry they are, horny or just plain happy. In the book we get emails like a normal mail would appear, therefore we interpret the mail and get not only get what Ana thinks but also our own interpretation. This also applies to a contract we have in the beginning of the book.
This to me makes the book much better than perhaps other books because we get to see it more like its in front of us.

The book ends sad and you just have to start the second book right away. The tears came quickly down my cheek.

The cover shows a gray tie that match the story and a picture you get later in the book. This will you see when you read the book. Can`t reveal too much :D

I recommend everyone to read this book.

Grade 6/6

All three books have created some controversy because it is part of the erotic group. The first books that came were censored. After the books were best sellers on Amazon.com in kindle version, several countries have chosen to take in the books. And here in Norway the book will be published in Norwegian in October/November.
